X41T battery in X41
X41T battery in X41
Is it just my X41, or is it normal that I can attach (with some force) an X41T battery and run properly?

Interesting observation; if you remove the two tabs on the front, it will even lock in.
Nevertheless there are no advantage in using the Tablet battery since capacity is the same and the battery hangs out the back further.

Re: X41T battery in X41
I didn't remove any tabs, it just requires a little pressure to lock both sides in. The advantage is more because I have an X41T battery but not an X41T, so it's just an extra battery.
Does it still lock into an x41T if the tabs are removed? I think it'd be easier to put in if I removed them, but I don't want to lose compatibility.

The computer side has two little cavities to take the tabs. They are there just to made sure the correct battery is inserted.

Re: X41T battery in X41
Does this mean that it's also possible to use an X41 battery in an X41 Tablet? Because I'm getting a tablet and the batteries that're coming with it are more or less shot...
Re: X41T battery in X41
Not possible. The physical dimensions of the x41t can't hosue a x40/x41 battery because of the protruding part in the middle of the battery baybemymonkey wrote:Does this mean that it's also possible to use an X41 battery in an X41 Tablet? Re: X41T battery in X41
I bought a X41t battery for my X40, and after cutting the 2 tabs with a knife, it fits well in my X40.
Of course, it is not the prefered choise (unlike X40/X41 battery, the X41t battery is longer, and has a hole in the middle, so it makes my X40 looks funny with it).
The reason why i bought it was that someone had one for 3 years, 0 cycle, but sold it for cheaper than even the OEM battery which loose full power much too fast for my taste.
3 years of innactivity put the battery at 0% of charge, which is really not good for a battery.I feared for that... but it seems to work like a charm.
On my (Lenovo SSDed) X40, 68.15W of full battery capacity after 2 full cycle gives me 10 hours of autonomy @ idle (that is writting latex files). That's pretty awsome
.
better than my IBM 5years old battery (20W left), a IBM 4years old i bought from ebay (16W - lower than the 5years old cause it was not used well), a 2years old Lenovo battery @ 55W....
