X40 / X41 wide screen resolution (Windows 7)?

#1 Post by michjosi » Tue Oct 20, 2009 7:00 pm

I know there was a topic about that, but I had no success getting a resolution like 1680 x 1050 to work on a X40 or X41. I run Windows 7. Is there any chance to do this? Thanks a lot!

Welcome to the Forum.

The problem is two fold, the intel 8xx/9xx GPUs are not supported directly on Windows7. You may try extracting a Vista driver then load it on to Windows7. Then it should allow you to set Monitor2 to different resolutions. Supported GPU has no problem such as T43/T43p.

Secondly, there are no DVI ports on X40/X41. Otherwise Windows7 should detect the monitor and set correct resolution.
