X40 or higher models?

#1 Post by c0dehunter » Sun Oct 25, 2009 12:07 pm

Hello,

I have an option to buy a very lightly used (almost like new) X40. i does not come with CD-ROM docking station though. I can get it for $150. what do you recommend? Should I get it or buy the higher models? What is the highest?

also does this X40 has an integrated video card (i.e. weak for light games and DOS, emulation games?)

Thanks!

$150 looks like a good deal to me, especially if you are in France. I've just spent much more (150E) on an X40 (with a docking station though) and I am very happy with it, especially the form factor and quality. Only thing is that the screen is not so bright or maybe a little yellowish but it's fine at maximum light. Should be enough for playing light games I think.
Mine still has the original 40GB hard drive but I don't feel it's too slow. I try to keep the sofware to a minimum though. I was surprised that it can handle youtube HD videos pretty well, maybe even better than my T42P, but I haven't done extensive testing ...
