How limiting is the intel graphics chip, inside the x41, thinking of expose style features, in OS X or Linux?
The alternative would be going for an x60s, and if there's anyone with some experience in the SSD department, I'd be interested to know how much of a difference it would make, to be upgrading to a sata interface. Thanks!

Re: considering x41 (couple questions)
The GPU is Intel GMA900.
It doesn't support Aero. It should work OK in Linux, dunno about OS X.
The biggest drawback to the x4x line is the 1.8" HD. It's expensive to upgrade.
The X60 features better graphics and the ability to use standard 2.5" SATA HD's.

Noobie question, what's exactly "expose style features"??austinshea wrote:thinking of expose style features
My X41 (see details in my signature), handles Linux quite well. I only note some lag when browsing heavy flash based sites. I only use it to watch videos and browsing/emailing, for all those tasks the speed is ok, even with the original sluggish HD.
For me the big plus is the sleek and nice design and the lightweight, it's very portable and I find it to be quite sturdy as well.
My 0.02 cents...
Cheers

Re: considering x41 (couple questions)
well, it seems like you can really get a lot out of the x41 with those Chinastyle SSDs, but hmm gma 900 doesn't support aero.
It does seems like the gma950 is much nicer hardware.
OS X has this feature called expose, and it makes textures of all your windows, so that the graphics processor can do nice things with them. Here is a really boring video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jN-zvRxfsOg
