X31 with windows SEVEN, where are drivers?

hallo
i tried to install windows Seven on X31, it works but not for all(ad example aero doesn't) and it has installed generic video card ;i don't find drivers for video card ATI radeon 7000!
ibm site has only drivers for win XP and previous
so where could i find the right drivers ?? what about the other drivers foe wifi bluetooth etc?

When you connect to internet via wired ethernet (driver for that should be installed out of the box), Windows should be able to find drivers for the wireless card on Windows Update; at least it did for me.

For graphics driver, search these forums for a link to Radeon 7500 drivers. They work and enable standby-to-RAM (S3), but the fancy Aero stuff won't work -- the hardware's too old.

i don't find drivers for video card ATI radeon 7000!

I had similar problems as you. I could get the wireless driver to work after pluging my X31 via cable to my router.

The ATI drivers were trickier, I've created this topic some days ago explaining the way I used to fix the problem: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=81473

Alltough lately I'm experiencing some little bugs with this drivers. Will probably post another topic one of these days.

finally after visiting a couple of sites...i found ATI Radeon 7000 drivers..
i tried to install...it seemd successfully...but when i went to device manager , surprise:there was not the video card driver but always the generic ones!
so i choice to do the old method: going to device manager -> video card -> properties -> update driver -> install from a directory ->browse and i choose the directory of Drivers->display->win->video->Ati
it works...it took the ati driver and now in device manager i have Ati radeon video card stated on Display menu; but Aero still not works!
i visited so many sites ..so i lost the right ones to write here the links...but i can upload the directory with for everybody that need it and want it!
power manager is the next step!

somebody knows what about X41 using with Seven?
...the windows reliability and features tests gives me 2,6 for cpu 3,7 for hd 2,8 for memory and before installing drivers 1,0 for video now it is not able to identify!
my model is 2672-c2g

Aero won't work with our X31s... I think you'll need newer hardware to be able to run it.

Not that I'm missing it too much anyway...

Aero doesn't even work with X41 that has graphics with full DX9 compliance.

The funny thing is that aero worked on it with vista beta.

How do you know whether Aero works or not?

I have the video driver loaded on my X41 and got a Graphics WEI of 1.9. But still don't get the transparent look of Win7 running on a T43. Does that mean Aero is not running?

Open up a few windows. Hold the Windows key down then hit the tab key. If Aero flip 3D does not pop up it is not running.

My X41 has no Windows key.

Alt-Tab enables Windows flip. This is also an Aero function -

The switch program function works but a 2D window, not the 3D flip. I think Aero is not working.

I'm typing this in an XP machine (don't have my X31 with me now), but I thought that a WEI of 1 in the graphics section means that Aero is deactivated... Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong...

my win7 ultimate on X31 in "more details" said that was 1 because of the video driver was a generic ones; as result of video driver generi ones Aero didn't work.
but so now i know that i will not have Aero on X31 even if i found the video driver of radeon 7000; and newer that i couldn't use it with X41 too???...what a bad news!!!
instaling win7 on X41 would be my next step
but it's funny that one of my friend with fujitstu siemens pc (centrino 1,6 ghz 2 gb ram) was unable to run Aero until he manually install ed video driver...after installing all works, Aero too!
with an X60 would work? i hope so.....or not?

The X60 uses the Intel GMA950 Graphics Processor and is fully supported by Aero.

The funny thing is that it worked before when I was still using W7 home premium and the same drivers.

Does anybody have any ideas/thoughts? It looks weird for me...

It's the old ATi drivers. I get the same thing, but only after I swap out the "generic" drivers for the 7500 drivers. Personally, I'm not noticing a heck of a big difference between the 7500 drivers and the generic. I'm still running the RC at the moment, however. I completed my system backup last night, and will be installing the consumer purchase software tonight.
