SoundMax drivers for Win7 on x31

Bizarre. When I installed the RC for Win7, all the SoundMax (or at least, working audio drivers) installed without a hitch, I didn't need to tweak a thing. Now I've gone and purchased the product, and after install, my audio doesn't work. No drivers available, it says.

Suggestions? Is there a particular audio driver already in the system that will work with the soundmax? I can't find standard AC97 on the list, not can I find SoundMax drivers online that work w/ Win7x32.

I'm usually smarter than this ... must be the teething kid ...

Well, I remember having a similar issue with my X31. But after Win7 was finally installed, I rebooted the PC and then windows update automatically upgraded many drivers at once and solved the audio problem as well.

I would also recommend you to install Lenovo's system update 4.0: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-73695.

well done, lad. Don't know why Windows Update didn't detect the required drivers for the audio chipset a week ago when I installed the OS, but there it is ... audio now works.

Try XP drivers compatibility, for me it works ! ( on x41 )

It is! I've had it for several years now, and love it! Got me through my MBA.
