Help With X31 Charging Circuit Component Identification

#1 Post by maxstang » Sun Dec 27, 2009 12:11 am

So one of the modem bosses in my X31 broke loose and shorted a 6 lead surface mount component in the charging circuit, blackening it so badly that I can't read what it was. Does anyone have the x31 schematics they can email me, or know what the six lead semiconductor directly below the ADP3806 and above the battery connector on the motherboard is? Thanks for any help.

For anyone who's interested, I now have the x31 schematics and board view.

Hi - my son has poured fruit juice over his x31  , and after cleaning the motherboard the only thing we can't get working again is the charging circuit. I doubt that there is anything we can do, but the schematics might help me (ex hardware engineer) but I doubt I could sucessfully replace any surface mounted components, even if i could source a replacement...
Any help before we junk it would be great!
Thanks, Keith

Hi Max,
I'm very interested. I've recently discovered X31s and love them, awesome little machines. Anything that I can get my hands on that might keep them going for as long as possible would be greatly appreciated.

Best,
Shaun.

These would be good to have. Are they in PDF form?

What was spilled? Was it sugary? Was the computer on and it shorted out?
Clean up any gooey stuff and let it dry, dry, dry and dry some more. Take a hair dryer to it and let it dry some more.
Oh, wait, you said it was dead. So, something was bridged, shorted or fried.
