black screen on x20 /mysteriously fixed

What might cause my screen to be black? It just went dark when I was working on something, and I couldn't get it back. I put it on standby and finished my work later with an external monitor. It doesn't show the ibm logo during bootup or anything, external monitor works fine, though. Same thing under knoppix linux. I can't see any trace of anything on the screen in any light.

Update, before posting anything - I disassembled the LCD display, following the manual at the ibm site linked to from the faq here to see if I could see any broken connectors or anything. Couldn' t see anything wrong, put it back together and now it works!

Any ideas on what could have been wrong? Bad connection at one of the connectors I pulled apart and put back together? Something I don't knew about? Dumb luck? I'm happy it works, but wonder if it will suddenly turn black again soon.

sometimes connectors come loose, taking them out and putting them back in... (re-seating) fixes problems quite often, congrats on your good fortune
