Can the X40 handle large HDDs?

#1 Post by budder » Fri Feb 25, 2005 11:31 pm

I just got a new 160GB drive to use as an external, and I can't see it. I'm hoping that it will work once I format it, but if the X40 can't handle that much space anyways...

So what is it? Do I need to get a new enclosure with a nice shiny new controller, or will tomorrow's format fix things for me?

Format will fix it. A USB connected HD isn't affected by any BIOS induced size limitation.

May need to partition it and format it.

Typically if you right-click on My Computer and choose Manage, then Disk Management you can hopefully see it in there and what its status is.
