Embedded Controller Install Frozen?

I got my 8-cell battery for my X41 Tablet today, and once it was fully charged, I decided to update the BIOS and embedded controller. On IBM/Lenovo's website, they say if you need to update both, to update the BIOS first. So I did, and that went smoothly, as it always has on all the Thinkpads I've done in the past.

Now I go through the same process again, to update the embedded controller. That started around 8:05 PM, and according to the screen, could take 30 seconds. It's been over ten minutes now, and the system hasn't shut itself off, and there appears to be no hard drive activity.

It's just sitting at the 'Now updating...' screen. Am I screwed, or what?

Typing this from the X41 Looks like I got lucky. I powered it off after over half an hour, booted into the BIOS, and check the embedded controller version. It was still at 1.00. Exit & Saved Changes. Booted right into Windows, no problem.

*PHEW*

Saved me $90 for a new motherboard.
