I put a fresh XP install on my X31 2672 and it won't hibernate after standby when on battery. Strangely on AC it will hibernate as per the settings in the energy saving window / power manager window. Also will it hibernate perfectly when told so by Fn or Start -> Hibernate.
I just bought the recovery CDs from <promotion of site not allowed>.com and tried to restore the factory setup but at the end the recovery barfs on me, XP won't boot, stops at agpCPQ.sys. No wonder as this is an IBM X31, not a Compaq X31 but anyway. Recovery also takes a bloody long time in this day of megabit interweb & instant gratification.
My last resort would be some linux, got to move to the light side sometime, but I kinda like XP...
Anybody run into the same problem? I've search the forum on hibernate issues but nothing came up, Google the same. Any hints much appreciated.
Cheers,
Ferenc
