X41T w/SSD versus X60t

#1 Post by dwilsonfl » Sun May 23, 2010 8:26 am

Enjoying using an HP t4200 tablet but haven't gotten rid of my X40 because I love the Thinkpad solidity, the kyb, and the trackpoint. Normal use for me is the internet, Word, and Powerpoint. Would love to have a little more speed and often I hear the HD whirring.

So I'm thinking about selling both and getting a Thinkpad tablet.

Would an X41t with an SSD - say the IBM 60gb do the trick?

I'm looking for a light machine with no heat issues so Dual Core behemoths worry me.

Thanks,

David

One of my friends has an X60t and it doesn't feel that much hotter than my X41T. With it's dual core CPU and updated graphics it runs Windows 7 and Ubuntu far better than my X41t. In all honesty if you were to sell both I would suggest going for the X60t. It is simply a superior machine.

Thanks for the insight. The X60s machines are out there all the time and really reasonable bout the tablets are pretty rare. I'll keep looking.
