AC adapter compatibilty

just got an extra AC adapter, but im not sure i got the right one.

i got a 72W (or seventy something) 4.5amp AC adapter from IBM, the X40 is not listed in the manual. my original AC adapter is 3.5 amps and is smaller.

does this new one work with X40?

Yes. The X40 will only draw what it needs. My bona-fide IBM partner vendor sold me a 72 Watt supply to use with an X22 as well as with the X22 and its slice. ... JD Hurst
