Booting problem: X31 and DVD Burner

#1 Post by tekmantoo » Fri Mar 04, 2005 12:28 am

I have an X31 with the X3 media slice. I installed a Panasonic U825b DVD burner in the media slice. I have a Hitachi 40gb hard drive in the X31. I was able to boot up with the media slice attached which included the Panasonic DVD burner after a small delay. I replaced the hard drive with an 80gb Seagate and now when I have the media slice installed it will not boot (with the Panasonic DVD burner in the media slice). Is there a master/slave issue with the new drive? Is there a way to change that? Thanks for any info.

I do not totlaly remember which ones, ut some machines will not boot from certain Panasonic drives.

Do you still have the original CDROM?
