Mini-PCI Cards Interchangeable?

#1 Post by dsarrafi » Fri Jun 04, 2010 9:16 am

I've removed the Atheros AR5BMB-44 Mini-PCI wireless networking adapter from a Lenovo R52. My question is, can I install that in an IBM Thinkpad T40 2373-6U0? All help is appreciated.

there can be only problem with incompatibility ( errors on startup ). Just try it and you will see. Incompatibility can be fixed with one wery easy linux distribution.

Many cards of the same type (mini-PCI) can be swapped between models. Your best bet for success is to ensure the BIOS is up to date on the candidate machine.
