trackpoint problems, x201t with linux

#1 Post by phaedrus2 » Fri Jun 18, 2010 12:17 pm

Hi All,

I recently purchased a new x201 tablet and am delighted at how well it operates with linux (ubuntu 10.04)... with one notable exception: the trackpoint is misbehaving. When left-clicking, I find that (1) the cursor position shifts ~1mm vertically from it's screen position, resulting in erroneous touchdown position and (2) unless the click is made very briefly, it results in a double-click (making scrolling a real nuisance, e.g.). Both of these problems can be solved by using the left-click button on the touchpad in lieu of the trackpoint left-click button.

Any suggestions? I've tried using the using the default ubuntu mouse utility as well as the open source "configure trackpoint" utility. Both to no avail.

Thanks!

Dal

So that you are in the right forum, I will give you my X24 and you can give me your X201t. Then I will take that over to the appropriate X200-series forum and you will be in the right place without having to move at all! Sounds like a steal of a deal to me!
