Performance of 1,2Ghz and 1,4Ghz
Performance of 1,2Ghz and 1,4Ghz
I plan to buy a X40 this month. I defnetly want the bigger high capacity battery
My dealer has got to X40 offers: 1,2Ghz CPU with high capacity battery and the 1,4Ghz CPU with the smaller battery. They both cost the same (1700Euro)
The bigger 8 cell battery costs 185Euro.
Now I wonder if i should buy the 1,2CPU Notebook or the 1,4Ghz Notebook+the extra battery.
So my question is, is the performance of 200Mhz more, worth 185Euro? Or is the faster cpu not noticeable?

For theses tasks you might not need to have your CPU over 600Mhz at any time. The difference is not noticeable, so imo it is not worth it. Save the 185 Euros and buy an X4 Ultrabase, you will use it a lot more than the extra 200 Mhz.Schreddar wrote:I will use the Notebook most of the time for surfing, to check/write emails and for latex. Actually there is not a single programm which needs a lot of performance but for the future I though it might be suggestive to buy the faster cpu
1.2 and 1.4 is not much different. Bigger battery is better 7.5 h ~ 3.5 hSchreddar wrote:I will use the Notebook most of the time for surfing, to check/write emails and for latex. Thanks for your help to make up my mind.
But now it is even better. I found a online-shop in Austria (www.notebook4u.at) which offers the X40 with 1,4GHz and the 8 cell battery for 1590Euro. When they ship it to Germany where I live, I will save extra money because in Austria they have 20% tax and in Germany we have 16%. In the end it will cost 1537Euro. Thats a great price I think,
