X41T Does it not like Netear routers??

#1 Post by fry112 » Fri Jul 09, 2010 4:06 pm

I own a good amount of laptops and one thing I am begining to notice is that my 2 tablets x41 really dont play well with my netgear router it shuts off and on and it just runs terrible while my other thinkpads work perfect! so during the 4th of july weekend I went to my parents and they also have a netgear router and neither of my tablets worked on theres! but everything else was working perfect! so I am confused ! do these things just not work well with netgear wifi?

Just for the heck of it...try installing Windows 7. I had an X41t that behaved very well on wifi with Windows 7...it is still running just fine in the hands of a very smart 11 year old. Windows 7 has built in support for the X41t features.

Where did you placed the X41t? Are there any 2.4Ghz device between it and the base station? Is the power control set to high performance?

That's weird, my brother has also a Netgear router and I have no problems with my X41 when I'm at his home. I'm using Linux thougth...

Cheers

I travel to a lot customer sites throughout my work week. They have varying wifi routers from manufacturers such as netgear, belkin, d-link and so on. I have never had a problem connecting to them or maintaining a connection with my X41T.

Is your driver up to date? I know you said you are running Windows 7, there might be an updated driver.
