Received my first ever thinkpad a few days ago. I've replaced the hard-drive and been in the process of setting up Slackware Linux just the way I like it.*
The laptop does have a couple of issues though. The main one is the screen bezel - it is not clipped in correctly on one side. Could anyone tell me how to fix this? I've tried the hardware maintenance manual and it's not much help. A picture follows:
Also, I have read that the X32 was not available with Bluetooth, and the maintenance manual says the bluetooth status LEDs are only present 'on certain models', but mine does have BT status LEDs (well maybe not the actual LED behind, but the bluetooth logo next to WLAN). Does that mean that it does have bluetooth, that it's an X32 mobo in an X31/X30 case, or is it of no consequence?
Finally, the front docking latches are broken. How much would this affect docking functionality?
*(if anyone is interested, suspend-to-RAM, acpi cpufreq, wireless [with wicd], volume/brightness buttons, etc. seem to work out of the box on 13.1. Haven't tried suspend-to-disk yet.)
