X41 tablet recovery media set needed

#1 Post by Tim82 » Mon Jul 12, 2010 11:18 am

Good day!

A friend of mine recently acquired an X41 tablet from Ebay. It came without a hard drive, so I would like to give him my hard drive after I get a decent SSD.

He wants to install the original XP Tablet Edition on this machine, but the tablet came without any recovery media. It has the original license sticker on the base, and it's from the United States.

Can anyone help me, maybe upload the recovery media to somewhere? Of course I don't want anything illegal, just a replacement of the missing recovery set.

The type number of his tablet is 1866-3GU. I have a similar, 1866-CTO tablet, but I'm content with the (legal) Vista Business OS that came with it and if I would have a recovery for my tablet, it would be a German version.

Thank you for the help in advance!

Windows 7 (all versions) supports the tablet. I had good results with the Home verison. You can download a trial from Microsoft to see if you would be happy.
