New hard drive

#1 Post by runningman » Tue Aug 24, 2010 12:28 pm

Hi, My original X31 (2673) 40gb hard drive (Hitachi) died last week  , so I will be looking for a suitable replacement ASAP. Any recommendations would be appreciated :help: I've been told that Seagate and WD drives are particularly good, but I've no direct experience, only what others have told me.

Thanks

At this point, for new retail drive, only WD PATA are available. There are a few PATA SSD's available if your space needs are not too large. Both the WD and SSD should give your X31 a boost in performance too.

160GB Samsung Spinpoints are still around as well. Nice fast drive for $55.
