X41 indicator lights not all working

The X41 works now, after installing a replacement MB. One thing I notice is that some of the indicator lights in the LCD unit are not working. In fact, the only ones that do seem to work are the WiFi light and the HDD light. The AC, charge indicator and sleep indicators are not working. When the TP is completely shut down, and you plug in the AC adapter and a battery needing charge, the indicator on the outside of the case should be showing that the battery is being charged. Not working. Is this a sign of something faulty on the MB, or is there something inside the LCD module that can cause this? I did have to install a button driver for the special Thinkpad buttons on the keyboard, but there shouldn't be any driver for the indicator lights, right? There's no OS in use when the thing is shut down or in sleep mode. The indicators should be controlled by hardware.

The Thinklight works, but I don't like the amber color. Is that normal? The one on the A31p is bright white.

Aren't the LED status lights mounted to the inverter board? If so, maybe they are damaged. And yes, it appears that some X41 systems have the amber/orange Thinklight.

Mine has it as well! Funny enough, the X40 has a "normal" white and the X60 a very bright white (kind of a "LED" white).

I've used the X41's led during some long night flights and I found the amber color to be very pleasant.

Most "white" LEDs are really blue. Phosphorous coatings are added to change the blue emission to white. The exact color depends on the coating.
