So, has anyone tried an 802.11n card in an X31.
If so, which one and how to you provide antennae support/

It does not like it, will require the 1802 hack

As far as the antenna goes:

Or locate and install the factory Blue-tooth antenna

I know that this likely isn't much help but I used the mPCI wifi and also the modem / bluetooth cards out of a 'donor' T43 with my X31 project. (I got the mint condition 1871-1LM T43 really cheaply as it has a lose southbridge. A nice collection of parts at the right price. :D )

I made my own bluetooth antenna using a length of wire with connector from my collection of lesser (non-TP) laptop parts and just ran it under the X31 palmrest. It works well. The wireless card is an Intel Pro 2200BG according to Device Manager and bluetooth is 'IBM integrated Bluetooth IV'. I didn't note the S/Ns / FRU numbers, I just fitted the cards, crossed my fingers and hoped that they worked. They both do, no BIOS-hack needed, and both work with Fn-F5.

I had to remove the cover from the bluetooth LED on the inverter as my X31 didn't have bluetooth to begin with. Hope that's of use to someone reading the thread. :)

I'm needing a new card & found this thread, but now I'm confused. (my wife says I'm always confused)
Isn't that Intel Pro Wireless 2200 b/g a miniPCI-e? and doesn't the X31 use a miniPCI?

I'm finding my 2100 3B won't connect if I have any security on my wireless. I'm looking for a drop in replacement that will work, and hopefully give me better speeds.
I'm new to this so sorry if I'm mistaken.
