games that work on the x31 (I MADE A LIST)

#1 Post by bronevaya » Fri Mar 18, 2005 4:36 pm

Here are the games Ive played on the x31
PM 1.4ghz
1 gig of ram
latest catalyst drivers

Half life 2 - same as source
Counter strike source - no lag, 800x600 most details on full
Any half life mod - awsome speed, opengl
Rome total war - small armies, most graphic settings on low
The sims 2 - fast gameplay but slow camera movement
Operation flashpoint (with expansion and latest mods) - awsome speed
PSX emulator - awsome speed / gameplay

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST INTEL DRIVERS FROM IBM OR YOUR AGP SPEED WILL BE SET TO OFF MAKING YOUR GAMES SLOW AND UNPLAYABLE (I had to caps that, I cant stress how important this is)

I love this little machine, small, fast, long battery life, sexy design, can hold its own in most newer games!!

I will update this list as I try more games, add your games here!!

Please try World Of Warcraft if you are so inclined :)

P.S. How, in your opinion, does the Radeon 7000 in the X31 measure up to the Intel Extreme Graphics chip found in e.g. the X40?

I havent tried out the x40 so I dont know how it holds up.

My brother plays wow and I remember when he installed it that it was a long, terrible, gut renching install (it took forever)

BUT

in the name of science I will expreiment!

I will post my findings later

Thanks a lot man, looking very much forward to hearing what you conclude! :) All Blizzard games take half an ice age to install on most systems IMO, and it probably doesn't help using a slower laptop hard drive...

Also a game like Need For Speed Underground 2 (very shader intensive) would be quite interesting to see tested on your X31...
