Hi,
I have an x31 running Windows 7. It runs 100% fine either standalone or attached to an Ultrabase.
When connected to a Dock (2631), Dock 2 (2877) or a port replicator things go awry. If docked to any of the above when powered off, when attempting to power on the BIOS complains that the mini-PCI wireless card is not authorized that there are PCI resource conflicts with the serial port, on board ethernet port and the docking station ethernet port. It then stops and does not boot. If powered on first, then docked, the laptop will get power from the dock/replicator but none of the connections on the dock/replicator work including video, ethernet, mouse, keyboard, etc.
Any ideas? Doesn't seem to be a Windows 7 issue since the BIOS does the complaining. I did ensure the BIOS on the x31 is the latest release and set the config to factory defaults. I did fool with the PCI interrupt settings a bit without luck. Since the Ultrabase works I assume the docking connector on the x31 is healthy. Also tried it with the serial port both disabled and enabled in the BIOS.
Thanks,
Scott

Re: x31 with dock issues
Well, a simple PD technique would be to pull the mPCI card and observe docked behavior.
