Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox question

#1 Post by GlynH » Mon Jan 31, 2011 8:11 am

Hi there,

On my X41 TabletPC I was able to use System Update (on a different HDD than the last post where I posted SU does not work and go into an infinite loop:-) to download and install Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox.

Two questions;

1. How do I stop it running by default at Startup?

I have checked the usual Registry key under Run but do not recognise this app being called.
As I don't use it I don't really want it loaded & running by default...

2. When I attempt to go into Settings I get a Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox error window open up which advises;

Lenovo ThinkVantage Toolbox has encountered a problem and needs to close"

When I close this widow I get a TVToolbox window that tells me there are two identical Toolbox updates available to download.

When I click OK it downloads an update, I choose to install but I still can't get into Settings to alter anything!

I then get the same window open telling me I have the same two updates available and even a reoot doesn't cure the issue :-(

Another infinite loop it would seem!
Regards,
