Hi all. A couple months ago I got a new X201T (wicked good machine) which consigned my faithful X41T to the shelf. The other day I found a need for it and decided to do a clean install.
Things were going good until about halfway through the install when the machine just shut down with the smell of magic smoke (no sightings though). No fuss, no drama, just turned off. Wouldn't turn back on until about 5 minutes later either.
It now runs fine again, except for the charging situation. It'll run just fine off the charger, but the battery never gets any juice (turns off the instant you yank the power). It says that it's at 0% and charging, but never gets to 1%. But it does say charging, and power manager says the battery is "healthy".
I've tried a second battery and power manager reports that battery as unhealthy, which makes sense as I replaced it since it was dead. So it seems that power manager is talking to something.
Ran the diagnostics boot disk and it came back 100% passed.
Any ideas other than my current conclusion that something went poof on the motherboard due to its hurt feelings of being replaced?
Thanks.
X41T charging problem
Re: X41T charging problem
Whoops. Wrong section. Can someone move this to the X series section?
Thanks.
Thanks.
