T40 vs X31 again

I've had my T40 for just a few weeks and I'm thinking
I should have gotten a X31 and perhaps a docking station.

I guess I'd like something even more imprssively smaller
or it might get left behind on trips.;

Does this make any sense ?

Should I just sell the T40 on ebay ?

I have 2G of PC2100 memory inthe T40,
I think I'd like a PC2700 X31.

I also have a spare 60G drive.

What's the best (ie cheapest) upgrade method ?

The PC2700 on both machines works as PC2100, so that makes no difference.

It's a T40 2373-19U/2G/30G
with 2G in it.

What's the deal with the 2100/2700 speed memory on a X31.

The X31 is spec'd for PC2100 memory. PC2700 is faster but it is downward compatible with PC2100, so you can use the PC2700 in an X31 and it will work fine.
