is it possible to overclock the x41T? The cpu or the crappy gpu?

Is it possible to replace the CPU or the gpu? what tools do you need and how is it done?

The GPU is soldered to the board and is not upgradeable. The best thing you can do performance wise is probably a SSD.

probably no SSD that will fit the HDD bay in an X41T..
they were and are slow and an X60 or X61T would be much better bang for the $$..

The Kingspecs should fit (and the lenovo branded Samsung SSD should as well). I managed to install a Sandisk SSD with ZIF Adapter in my X41t, but it fits really tight, disassembling the hard disk housing should have helped, but I was too lazy back then

Overclocking is possible(using a hardware modification, jumping two points on the motherboard, it has a thread here) but your biggest issue would be heat dissipation. The stock cooling system without any major modifications will hardly be able to cool the CPU at such a speed(2Ghz using the modification mentioned above), at stock voltages. (according to my calculations, it would reach 99C on mine!, 100 being the maximum. all i've done to it is added a heat spreader, which shaved a few degrees off) So undervolting will be necessary, but that will also mean that if you can't undervolt, you can't use it without having the possibility of overheating.(such as, if you're installing a new operating system, or etc)

So, Long story short, You shouldn't do it unless if you're prepared to handle all of the problems that will result from it
