X41 Tablet - LCD assembly help needed

Hi guys,

yesterday I had my display broken on my beloved X41 tablet. I have a model without fingerprint reader.

I have searched ebay for LCD assemblies and found only those that have fingerprint reader on the bezel.

I have asked the sellers whether they are interchangeable (I don't need the reader itself - only the display function) - but they didn't confirm they are.

I have looked through the service manual of this particular model - nothing found there as well.

So, if I buy an LCD assembly with fingerprint reader and install this on a model that didn't have this reader before... will the LCD work? again, I don't need the reader itself to work, only an LCD.

The LCD in X41T panels are all the same.
You can buy just the LCD-panel, or a complete lid, either with or without FP reader, they will all work.
You can put your old non-FPR bezel back on instead if you like.
An X41 (non-tablet) LCD will also fit, but you will need to transfer the pressure-sensitive top-layer and matching electronics from your broken screen. Quite a job for the uninitiated.

Yeh, it'll work. I've changed complete displays with or without the FP reader.

And you can get the FP reader to work if you solder the 4pin connector to the motherboard, all motherboards support it.
I did it on my X41 non-Tablet and FP reader works perfectly with FP bezel.
