hi,
so I have some parts left over from an x60 thinkpad including harddrve, memory, powersupply and battery.
Are these parts compatible with a x61? or a x61s or a x61 tablet?

The 4 cell (extended life) and 8 cell batteries for the X60 are compatible with X60s, X61 and X61s.
The slim 4 cell for the X60s/X61s are only for use in those two notebooks and cannot be used with the X60/X61. (The "s" designates a slimmer base and different components, ie, ULV cpus)
Also, the batteries for any of the aforementioned laptops are NOT compatible with the tablet versions. The hinge is in a different spot and the battery is much different physically.
Hard drive, memory and power supplies are for the most part, interchangeable. Depending on if you have the 65 watt or 90 watt adapter. The 90 watt is usually used on the larger notebooks with dedicated graphics and larger batteries. Not to say they won't work with the smaller notebooks.
Memory in the X60, IIRC was DDR2 533 so that will work in most notebooks of that era (not manufacturer dependent). Hard drive is SATA interface, will work on any SATA notebooks. Speed may be a deciding factor in whether to use it or not. The X60 was SATA 1.5 IIRC, newer notebooks are SATA 3.0 and faster now.
The 65 watt adapters are really only for the smaller notebooks, or large ones with integrated graphics.
ie, T60 with Intel graphics would more than likely have a 65 watt adapter. Add in the ATi X1300 and it will more than likely have a 90 watt.
Hope this helps!
