How to "read" BIOS settings

I got the following X60T some days ago:

Code: Select all

ThinkPad X60 Tablet (6363-AQ7)
Based 6363-Q3G: L7400(1.5GHz), 2GB RAM, 100GB 7200rpm HD, 12.1in 1024x768 LCD, Intel 950, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Vodafone WWAN, Swisscom WWAN, Bluetooth, Modem, 1Gb Ether, Sec Chip, FPR, 8c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Tablet 2005
Looks really nice and I'm happy with it, problem is the seller forgot to mention that the BIOS is password-locked. While I'm waiting for the seller to see if he know the password at all, I was wondering if there is a program that can read and display the BIOS settings. Pressing F12 at boot shows that the boot configuration includes only the HDD and LAN, but I also would like to know other BIOS settings as well.

Does anybody know if such a program exists? I tried google but I only get hits about how to read Desktop BIOSes or pages of dubious content.

Thanks!

If it is locked with a supervisor password, at bootup hit F1, then just hit the Enter key when it shows the 'locking icon'.
This will usually allow you to see the contents of the BIOS, but you cannot change ANYthing.
