X60T screen blanks

not sure if this is a windows problem or a hardware issue, but I'm inclinded to think it's Win 7 related as it never happened with linux.

periodically, the screen will just shut off as if I've hit Fn-F7. But I can't hit Fn-F7 to turn it back on. Computer still responds, so I put it to sleep, wake it back up and it's good to go.

Does this at seemingly random times.

Also having the documented screen flicker every so often.

Reloaded the latest video drivers from the lenovo site and it's still happening. actually, now that I think of it, it seems to have started after loading those drivers..

Any ideas?

Have a look at this, the symptoms sound similar, so the solution might work:

does indeed sound like a similar problem.

I deleted the driver that was loaded, and have been running on battery power for 40 minutes and have had zero flickers or screen blanks.

driver sounds like the culprit.

but I can't get the driver to which you pointed to load properly.

going to keep working at it.

removed the Lenovo driver. using the stock Win7 video driver. works perfect.

Never did get the Lenovo driver on the page you linked to work.

Well, keep us posted. You can also try drivers directly from Intel.
