[solved] SSD + Low HD Performance

#1 Post by dmdsoftware » Thu Mar 15, 2012 12:29 am

I recently installed a new OCZ Vertex 3 on my X61. Before doing so, I updated the BIOS to Middleton's BIOS to enable SATA 2 speeds.

After performing a fresh install of Windows 7 onto the drive, I did a Experience Rating test, and it reported a Hard Drive performance index of 5.9. This is the same number I see with a standard HDD. I was expecting something in the 7.x range.

Any opinions?

Nevermind, I re-ran the tests after all the Windows 7 + Lenovo updates, and now the test shows a hard drive performance index of 7.7. Drastic improvement.
