x60s 802.11n upgrade
x60s 802.11n upgrade
I want to upgrade my x60s (1704) to 802.11n
Found some old topics and saw I needed to upgrade my bios to whitelist the mini pci cards.
But all with dead links.
Can someone help me out where I can get a working bios ?
Also does this card work ? :

That card will work with a modified BIOS. You will need a half-card to full-card adapter, such as the following:

See if anyone has sent you a PM (Private Message) about modified BIOSs.

There's a card that works without a modded BIOS, which is Lenovo a/b/g/n, Atheros-chipped, the FRU for USA model is 42T0825, it will vary according to the region.

That card works just fine with two antennae.ParatoOptimal wrote:What are you going to do for the third antenna?

So, do you only connect the b and n leads?

Re: x60s 802.11n upgrade
That's not how it works in the first place...antennae are not assigned to a particular spectrum...ParatoOptimal wrote:So, do you only connect the b and n leads?

From the X60[s] HMM:ParatoOptimal wrote:So, do you only connect the b and n leads?
If you are installing a 802.11n wireless LAN card, attach the grey cable to the left connector and the black cable to the right connector. If you attach either cable to the center connector, the connection speed will be lower.
