Although I have an x200, my old x60s is still the best laptop I've ever owned. I need to replace the fan and keyboard on the latter. Any good sources of parts for this in US? Any advice on if i can trust getting a replacement off ebay (US or international?). Or is it best to go through Lenovo directly?

I saw on ebay that they required the specific fan number for x60s as not all are compatible with each other? Any experience on this?

As for keyboard, I'm sure you realize than any x60, x60s, x61, x61s, x60/61 Tablet keyboard will work.

I am guessing that going through Lenovo directly will probably cost much, much more than you need to pay.

Caveat emptor - Be careful buying fans off of Fleecebay. Many sellers think all x60, x60s, x61, x61s machines all take the same fan. Your x60s takes the smaller fan as I point out in the threads referenced. Many sellers put part numbers in their listing title merely as a reference or so their item will come up in a search but that may not be the exact part number you will be receiving. Request the exact part number for the specific fan they will be shipping you not just "compatible" with such and such. Make sure it's one of the Part Numbers I have listed in the threads referenced.

One thing about X60 series keyboards I have noticed is that a higher frequency of them have defective keys that let's say T60 series keyboards. Most Feebay sellers will not take the time to painstakingly test all keys on a keyboard including Shift-key combinations. That's actually something I do before selling any keyboard. You may find a bargain on the Bay or may find a heartache so, once again, Caveat emptor (buyer beware).

I don't have any x60s fans available right now but should have some arriving soon. I do have a keyboard available (in excellent shape). I list many items here but don't have time to list everything I have:

thanks, this is great information. If you get a fan in, please let me know. Otherwise I'll chase one down on your advice and after I get a new fitted, I'll get back to you one the keyboard. You are obviously a great source of parts and I hope to get my old x60s running as back up and keep my x200 as long as it works.
