Re: X61 Recovery discs.
You got numerous options here, all of them are based on the amount of risk you're willing to accept if using warez sources or if you can wait for official sources from Lenovo.
IBM still sells them, but at full price and usually for less than $100, it is worth croxxreferencing your HWTYPE to determine the recovery set FRU number. some venerable thinkpad models like the T43's and I think the X6 tablets have more than one different set of recovery cd's based on the time that elapsed between model ranges.
eBay and Amazon also sells them but its easier to find them based on the FRU of the CD set, or at least the MachineModelType of the x61.
I did a search at rapidlibrary.com, a well known warez site of free movies and found numerous hits at rapidshare and russian servers claiming to have english versions of the CD's. that is just as risky as having unprotected sex in a bad neighborhood if you download those, but if you're a skilled security practioner or devloper, you could screen the downloads for malware the same way a savvy john knows how to have safe fun despite dangerous zip codes.
Or someone here could take pity on you and just tar them up and host them for you, I don't have my set or I'd be happy to rar them up and put em up via FTP. I'll look to see if I have them and will PM if I do. If you have the time to spare, I'm willing to lend a compatible set to you by mail assuming I can trust you to return them unscratched and I can locate mine.
Is there a particullary vexing issue you're trying to resolve or have you determined the recovery discs are the best / only option for you ?
