Hi folks,

I'm considering getting an X60 or X61 tablet and fully intend to use it mobile. I'm assuming I will have to get a new battery for it.

Before I make the leap, how easy/difficult is it to get new, Lenovo original batteries for these units?

You won't be able to buy those in the USA, there's an embargo against mailing batteries.
Find them in Europe somewhere...

Thanks... doesn't really answer my question, though. Are these batteries easy, or difficult to find? And if I'm in Europe, where would I get one?

As far as I understand it, they can be shipped FedEx... I'm not sure that "embargo" is the right word here.

Maybe not "embargo" but "ripoff"...if you have to pay $100 shipping for a $100 battery that's pretty darn sad...

I have bought Genuine Lenovo batteries for my X60 Tablet from this eBay seller three times and am very satisfied both with the batteries and service.
The price is very good also and the batteries arrived in ~2-3 weeks max.
