Help replacing X61T Fan assembly

As the title says I am trying to replace the fan/heatsink on an X61T.
Am going through the steps as described in the hardware service manual but have a problem. I have completed the steps including removal of the LCD assembly, but the cables are lodged under the 'Extension Cable Card' FRU 41W1477 and I am unable to lift the screen off.
Furthermore, having searched the manual the only info I can find about this part is the name and the FRU reference, but not how to remove it.
Anybody have any instructions for how to do this?
Many thanks!

You need to unscrew and remove the LCD extension card first. For a complete teardown check

Thanks.
And thanks for the link. Good to know somebody is around however. It is all very tight and fiddly

Job done, mostly (somehow I managed to mislay the modem card).
Now I have only one problem. Everything seems to be working, but I am not getting any power/battery/HD LEds coming on. The wifi and bluetooth LEDs work however.
Any ideas what this might be?

The LCD screen inverter card(the card that the LCD screen plugs into) is likely either not seated properly in the motherboard, or the LCD connector's not connected right. You likely should take the keyboard off and double check that you put it back together correctly.
Before taking it apart again, you mentioned everything worked... so I'd try plugging an external monitor into the machine and make sure the computer is still posting and booting just fine, because if that is the case, then it's definitely just the LCD or the LCD card not plugged in right. No biggie.
Taking apart laptops is always a terrible mess... some of them are like 3D-puzzles, you have to keep track of what you removed from where, or it may not work properly when you put it back together. I remember bricking a 760 when I took it apart and did a terrible hash job of putting it back together
