IBM Stickers on Lenovo ThinkPad?
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X61s and was wondering if I could buy two of these and put them on the lid and the palmrest. Of course I'll get the right sized ones.
Has anyone ever done that before?

Not off the top of my head.
Measure the existing ones and take it from there...

Re: IBM Stickers on Lenovo ThinkPad?
I've found the right ones on eBay (16 x 27mm).dr_st wrote:All the X3x/4x/6x series use the same size stickers.

Now should I remove the old ones first, or just install the new ones on top of the old ones?

Re: IBM Stickers on Lenovo ThinkPad?
Just a quick update:
I got the stickers today and I just put them on.
For anyone wondering I didn't bother removing the old stickers and just put the new ones right on top. They look really good, especially the one on the lid.
Everything seems to be okay in terms of depth. They look like they are supposed to be there.
Just wondering. Are there any legit IBM ThinkPad X61s' out there? Never seen one.

Re: IBM Stickers on Lenovo ThinkPad?
Well, it's conceivable that they might not stay put as long compared to having applied them directly to the plastic. The ThinkPad decal is a die-cut layer of black plastic over foil. I've tried applying new decals over the foil alone (after a TP decal decided to separate), and it's not quite as set as when applying it as intended.GMaguire wrote:For anyone wondering I didn't bother removing the old stickers and just put the new ones right on top. Define "legit".GMaguire wrote:

IBM sold the PC Division to Lenovo in May of 2005, along with the rights to use their logo for 5 years. X61 was nowhere in sight at the time.
That being said, I've owned X61/T units with IBM logos that came that way from the factory. But they were no more of an IBM ThinkPad than yours is in any meaningful respect...

Re: IBM Stickers on Lenovo ThinkPad?
My Thinkpad x60s came with "Lenovo" on the screen and "IBM" on the keyboard.
