You don't possibly happen to be the seller yourself, don't you? ;)
BTW, if i were the seller i'd lower the rather prohibitively, if not even abusively high shipping costs in order to attract some worthwhile customers...

No I am not the seller, but your missing the point as your thinking not about the T9300 but about a meaningless thing and trying to find a negative straight away (very I.T Geek way of thinking), just because I want to share my find with other interested Thinkpad users - please don't show the 'presumption' that I must be the seller.

With respect I suggest you read 'Sherlock Holmes' books, that may expand you from 'missing the point' and 'presuming'.

I can't afford it but if I had £400 I would buy it, which is the total including postage from the ad.

You must be off your rocker!
Seller asks £265.- for the laptop and then on top of that another £135.- for Express delivery by 14th January next year? WTF...
Express delivery by a 3-legged dog with one eye?

(that's US$ 430.- and US$ 219.- shipping!)

@paulx61 Hmm... your first post about an eBay auction (X61 T8300) was edited by you earlier today: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.ph ... 25#p696225 What's obviously missing is the link to that eBay auction.
Now another post about another X61 for sale, which (coincidentally?) happens to be from the same eBay seller appears; I checked the Yahoo! cached search results :) .

Hey, i was just asking! ;)
On the other hand, checking the relation between your few former postings and their content which were mostly hinting at former offers of said same seller, and then almost nothing else, left quite a few doubts.
But if you say so ...

It is cheaper to buy a X61 T9300 system board for $250 and vanilla X61 for $100 and make a system board swap.

Sounds like a jip to me. It may be rare, but it's not a vintage computer to have such a price. There's also X200's and X201's that can offer similar performance.

Not affiliated with the seller, but if you read the description you wouldn't make such comments regarding the absurdly high p&p. Anyway, I would agree that it's too expensive anyway for a 2007 model

Excessive postage is against eBay selling rules (pretty sure UK follows same rules as US). It's seen as a way to reduce the amount that eBay charges as selling fees. I usually report auctions like this but since it's in the UK, it doesn't really affect me.

I've read the seller's "explanation" and would dismiss it as an absolute hoghwash, but that's me...
