Can I fit an X60s motherboard in an X60T
Dropped my X60s and the screen backlight went crack. It was marginally more expensive to upgrade to the X60T than it was to replace the screen (and cheaper to buy a new X60s than fix the screen!). However, my X60T has no slot for a SIM card. Can I simply swap the motherboard? Looking at it with the keyboard off they seem similar enough.
Thanks!
Thanks!

the non-tablet and tablet are different sizes so you won't be able to swap the motherboards -- size and screw holes etc are very different.
With that said, you might be able to force things. I have a X61s with a X61T screen, but the panel is taped together with the bezel because of the larger footprint of the tablet

Is that still true for the X60* models? I notice the motherboard in the X60T one is offset to the left by ~5mm to compensate for the extra width.

Ah OK. Thanks!

Unfortunately you are all wrong.
X60 Tablet and non-Tablet (including s-model boards) are physically fully interchangeable, I have swapped X60 Tablet L7400 board into X60 and X61 chassis' without problems, only BIOS needs to be flashed first to non-Tablet, otherwise the board shuts down right after startup if regular LCD cable is plugged in. Also if one wants all the LED's to work, some components must be soldered.
Swapping the non-Tablet board into Tablet will make it regular X60/X61/s in Tablet chassis as the non-Tablet boards do not have the Tablet hardware soldered on the board.

Perfect, so it sounds it'll work for him.
