X60T bios update failed. Machine still running. What now?

So I ran the BIOS update tool from Lenovo's website. It crashed (Windows killed it), and now when I try run it, it tells me 'Driver loading failed. The utility cannot proceed'.

I'm assuming the checksuck is failing, and it thinks I'm trying to flash the BIOS on a different model. Is there some other way to flash it without checking what's there already?

Thanks!

If the machine is running, then don't reboot/shut down it!!! Download X60 Tablet BIOS from here: http://www.porsche-foorum.org/album/dis ... at=0&pos=0 and flash it straight in Windows. It is a Middleton BIOS with cleared whitelists, I uploaded it for you.

Good luck!

Thanks! However...

'Cannot load driver <path>\PHLASHNT.SYS'

I'm running it as administrator. Is there a way I can use windd and throw it straight at the flash chip?

One of the requirements for Middleton's BIOS is, that Flashing over LAN must be enabled in BIOS.
Let's hope that is the case on your laptop (and no, you can NOT check, because that would mean powering off/restart...)
All the files inside that BIOS-file extract to the same directory that you tell RAR to put them in.
Redo the unpacking in another directory and try again.

Yeah, it didn't work and when I rebooted it just beeped at me (1-3-3-1). I bought a new motherboard on ebay for £16, and installed it yesterday. Nothing. Quite annoyed, I put it all back together as it was and took it home.

Put it on my desk, absent mindedly pressed the button... And it worked.

WTF?

The 1-3-3-1 indicates that there is no RAM, bad RAM, or poorly inserted RAM in your machine.
Taking it home may have caused it to 'seat' better in the laptop.
I would open it up again, take the RAM out, clean the gold contacts on both sides with an eraser, and put the RAM carefully back in.
