I've been searching this forum, and the net for some time now, looking for a link to download a modded BIOS for my X60 NON tablet to allow me to change the factory installed WWAN for a better, GSM capable WWAN.

I've seen "Middleton" and "Zender" bios's mentioned over and over again, but any time I see links, they're all dead Rapidshare links...

Can anyone point me to where to download the correct modded bios for my laptop please ??

My current BIOS is 2.10 (7BETC9WW)

Say there's a guy who has an X60s running 1.06 (7BET46WW) and wants to flash his BIOS so that he can replace his wireless card for one that doesn't run hot enough to turn his laptop into a George Foreman Grill, but he doesn't want to create an entirely new thread.

Haven't you all heard of Google? Might be faster than waiting for someone else to Google it for you...

BIOS flashing is a very dangerous procedure. Any mistake could result in a bricked system.

Better for a person to wait and know that they are getting correct information with a reliable download than getting information from another forum.

The first Google result for "X60 modded BIOS" leads to this very thread, by the way.

i have an x60 1706 e3u with evo wwan lan: in Italia doesn exist this system so i bought a sierra aircard mc 8781 unlocked 3g.
i know that i cannot swap simply the card , so what ihave to do to use my mc 8781 sierra?

in page that you linked there are 3 file to download:
1) bios upgrade 2.19 version
2)modified bios with phoenix slic 1.85 with extension _SSv2
3)slic 2.1 +whitelist check removed with extension __WL
which one i have to install?
what does each files?
in any case before i have to upgrade bios to 2.19 (mine is 2.18) with file 1)?
what about software drivers to download? in sierra site i found only software for usb version.. the 881U not for mc8781

Those drivers will work. Consider using Sierra's 3G Watcher program as the connection manager for the MC8781 card. It is elegantly simple, small, unobtrusive, and reliable.
