Display flickering on open/close

So my X61 Tablet has been somewhat of a project laptop. The previous owner didn't take the best care of it (a few cracks) and it developed the bubbling issue. I've replaced the screen with an X60 part and on occasion when opening/closing the screen the display with flicker a little. This ranges from the image shifting a little to some colors turning brown. Once the screen stops moving it will operate as normal.

Originally it would sometimes not revert to normal when going into slate mode, but after a column recently stopped working (I have what I assume is a parmanent dashed purple column) I reseated the cable and that seemed to solve the issue for the most part (still happens on a rare occasion). However, I was wondering if this is something I should be more worried about? Should I replace the LCD cable and/or hinge (which is a little wobbley from age) to prevent further damage?

The odd distortion and flickering is definitely back. Does anyone know if the WAN and non-WAN cables interchangable on a model that doesn't have a WAN card?

Edit: Just in case someone comes across this post in the future. Yes the cables will work, but the lengths seem to be slightly off. That is to say conecting the cable to the status LED board will take a little force, but can be done. While I can say these two cables are interchangable, I can't say that is the case for all X61 Tablet cables.
