I have an opportunity to pick one up for about $120. Good condition, etc.
Were they special in the way that the T60/T61 are special?

Only the ones with SXGA+ (1400x1050) LCDs were considered to be "special"...the standard XGA ones - which is likely what you're looking at given the price tag - were very usable but not really revolutionary...

This. The XGA models are fairly ho-hum (though still a solid tablet), you could maybe get one for less. It's the SXGA+ models that still see some significant demand ($300ish last I saw). AFAIK they are the only Thinkpad tablet to have offered such a high-res screen.

I wow family, friends and coworkers when using it to draw with photoshop.
But I am guessing they don't know much about tablet PCs.
S'okay, I like the attention.
Been thinking about grabbing a x60t with the sxga screen and doing the swap to my x61t because of that "air bubble" problem I have heard about.
