x61 os max memory

#1 Post by thinkpadforum » Sat May 25, 2013 8:38 pm

An x61t; max 8gb memory. Using 64 bit os. Does this need to be Vista or Windows 7/8?

Or can a Linux 64 (os) substitute just as well?

From ebay, will this be a good (excellent) memory choice? (or better suggestion; deal?)

Or as alternative, use a PAE kernel in increasing memory? (6-8gb?)

Any 64-bit OS will do, be it Linux, XP, Vista, 7, 8...

Spend a few more bucks and get proper RAM from Crucial, Kingston, Mushkin...at least that's what I do...
