800Mhz DDR2 RAM on x60s?

Hi. I have a Thinkpad X60s 1702, which should take 667Mhz DDR2 memory. However, I was offered a (used) Samsung 2GB 800Mhz DDR2 stick for a fair price, and the seller says it should also work on systems optimized for 667Mhz.
Is this correct? Does 800Mhz DDR2 work on a Thinkpad X60s? And what are possible drawbacks of using one? Thanks!

I'm using 800Mhz RAM in one of my X61s with no problems so far (it runs at 667Mhz instead of 800Mhz) so I think it shouldn't be an issue in your X60s either.

all series of ram (ddr2 sodimm, or ddr3 sodimm) work regardless of speed (backwards compatible). They just down-throttle to the slowest speed of the set, no problems. Some newer ddr3 rams are low voltage/dual voltage, but I dont think Ive seen an exclusively low-voltage ram thinkpad. using higher speed ram wont hurt, but wont benefit either.

OK, I guess I'll make a deal then. Thanks very much guys!
UPDATE: So, I bought the memory and thus far haven't encountered any problems. Working great.
