X60 chassis for X61?

My X61 got dropped and I broke all the plastics in one corner.

I have an X60 that I don't use much.

The plastics appear to be identical. I can probably move my X61 Planar into the X60 body.

The question is the WLAN card. I have a Verizon enabled Sierra 5275 card in the X61. The antenna on the X60 is set up for a Sierra 5270.

Will the 5270 antenna work with the 5275 WLAN card? Or do I need to do an antenna swap as well?

If you can, swap the lid from the X61 onto the X60.
Otherwise you may need to swap/install the extra antenna.
The rest should fit.

The lid plastic broke from the fall as well. I guess I can swap the WWAN antennas; they are in the same place.

Still trying to fix my X61...

I scored another X61 (7674-vxv). It was supposed to be dead, but appears to be working. It has a faster processor of a newer vintage (T8100) and an 802.11n WiFi. I want to import my WWAN from the old box, but the new Planar doesn't seem to have the connection for the supplemental fan (just a pad array on the Planar).

How important is the supplemental fan with WWAN?
