I noticed that I had AVG Secure Search in my x86 directory on W7.
It was the dickens to remove, but after renaming the directory then renaming the included files, I was able to delete them.
Just thought I would share that the performance of my X61 increased noticably.

I had to deal with this problem. My brother asked "I need to print homework." so I let him.
It turns out that he needed Adobe PDF reader, as if he never used Google Chrome before, so he installed it without my knowledge...
I had 3 search bars, 2 "virus scanners", and the great conduit homepage and search engine.
It was lovely. The applications would 'uninstall' and I couldn't uninstall the next one unless i restarted the PC, Win7 said programs were still being uninstalled.

I made him install the printer driver on his unit the next time asked me.
Not again. :BAAAD!:

Some time ago I had one of the first versions of AVG Secure Search enabled. It certainly took up a lot of CPU after you loaded the search results page of a google search. I disabled it pretty quickly.
